The board of directors of the Ontario Hockey Association have received and approved a request from the Shelburne Muskies Hockey Club for a one-year leave of absence for the 2023-2024 season.

Games that had been scheduled with Shelburne will not be made up. The participating clubs will play a 20-game regular season.

All players whose rights belonged to the Shelburne organization are now considered free agents and eligible to sign with any OEHL club.

The Shelburne franchise will be eligible to return for the 2024-25 season.
