The Ontario Elite Hockey League announced the approval of its 19th franchise.
The OEHL member clubs and the Ontario Hockey Association have approved the Ridgetown Rebels to begin play for the 2026-27 season.
The Ridgetown organization represents the continued growth of the OEHL’s vision of building senior hockey throughout southern Ontario with strong, sustainable small-town franchises.
“We are excited to build a long-term, high-calibre hockey team within our community that represents the vision and values of the OEHL ,” said Ryan Wilson, Ridgetown Rebels President.
Ridgetown represents the OEHL’s first member club located in Chatham-Kent and will play out of East Kent Memorial Arena in the OEHL’s South Conference.
Subsequently, the Erin Outlaws have been moved into the North Conference.
All teams will play a 20-game regular season schedule within their own conference, beginning October 2, 2026.
The 2027 Playoff format will be finalized prior to commencing the regular season schedule.
