With three weeks to go until the 2024-25 OEHL season, the teams are gearing up for another run at the J.F. Paxton Trophy.

With all 11 teams returning for the season, it promises to be an exciting year with another close battle in the standings.

There is one pre-season game scheduled in September, when reigning “A” champions Georgian Bay Applekings host an exhibition tune-up on September 28th when the Lucknow Lancers visit Thornbury.

After that, it will be time to get started for real, with the Seaforth Centenaires hosting the opening game on October 5th at 7:30 p.m. against the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks.

OEHL clubs are proud to offer family-friendly entertainment at family-friendly prices, and in order to ensure consistent pricing, an adult ticket to an OEHL regular season game will be priced at $10 each. Clubs are permitted to offer discounts (i.e. student or senior rates) at their own discretion.

The regular season will be 20 games in length, with all teams facing each other twice during the season (one home, one away).

The playoff format will remain the same, with the top-8 teams qualifying for the “AA” playoffs and a chance to compete for the Paxton Trophy.

The teams ranked 9th through 11th will compete for the “A” championship and the Hugh McLean Trophy, first in a three-team round robin semi-final, with the top-two advancing to a best-of-seven championship series.

A new look for the 2024-25 season will be in the jerseys. Home teams will now wear their dark jerseys at home, and the visiting teams will wear white or light colours.
