The Ontario Elite Hockey League announced its award winners for the 2025-26 regular season.
Kyler Nixon of the Durham Thundercats was named both the Most Valuable Player and Most Sportsmanlike Player of the North Conference.
The Durham captain lead all OEHL defencemen in scoring with 45 points (11 goals, 34 assists), all while being whistled for just three minor penalties (6 PIM) in 20 games.
In the South Conference, Seaforth Centenaires goaltender Alex Hutcheson was named the Most Valuable Player. He posted a record of 10-2-0, with a 2.09 goals-against average and .928 save percentage.
Andrew Tapsell of the Delhi Flames was named the Most Sportsmanlike Player of the South Conference, recording 10 PIM in 18 games played this season.
Brody Leblanc of the Durham Thundercats won the North Conference Top Scorer Award with 61 points (31 goals, 30 assists) in 20 games.
Alex Uttley of the Elora Rocks captured the Top Scorer Award of the South Conference with 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists).
The Ripley Wolves goaltending tandem of Jason Hamilton and Garrett Golley share the Lowest Goals Against Award in the North, with a combined G.A.A. of 2.25.
Hutcheson and teammate Tyler Parr of Seaforth won the Lowest Goals Against Award in the South. They posted a combined goals against average of 2.30.
Non-statistical awards were voted by team representatives in each conference.
The OEHL playoffs continue to march on, with the Sr. “AA” Conference Finals set to begin this weekend.
In the South, the #1 seeded Seaforth Centenaires take on the #3 Elora Rocks.
In the North, the #1 seeded Ripley Wolves face the #2 seed and defending Paxton Trophy champions, Minto 81’s.
Game 1 in the North final is Friday in Ripley at 8:30 p.m. The South final schedule will be finalized in the near future.
The Sr. “A” McLean Trophy final begins on Friday. The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks will host Game 1 against the Tillsonburg Thunder in Port Elgin.
