2026 Playoff Format Announced

The Ontario Elite Hockey League announced its playoff format for the 2025-26 season.

The 18 member clubs will be split into nine-team divisions, North and South.

For the regular season, each team will play 20 games entirely within their respective division.

Teams finishing 1st through 7th place in each division qualify for the “AA” Playoffs.

The 8th and 9th place teams in each division will play a best-of-3 series for the 8th seed.

Divisional quarterfinals and all subsequent rounds will be best-of-7, with re-seeding after each round.

The prevailing teams from the North and South will then meet each other for the J.F. Paxton Trophy.

The Sr. A Championship will not be contested in 2025-26.

The regular season begins October 3rd.
