The opening month of the 2023-2024 OEHL season concludes this weekend.

Six games are on the schedule this weekend, including two on Friday night, October 27th.

The Georgian Bay Applekings and Milverton 4 Wheel Drives will each be in search of their first wins of the season in their respective games.

Georgian Bay travels to Durham to face the Thundercats, who are coming off an overtime win over Ripley last Saturday. Durham captain Kyler Nixon scored the first overtime goal in OEHL history in that contest.

Meanwhile, Milverton heads to Palmerston to face the Minto 81’s, who are hosting their first of two home games this weekend.

Both Friday night games are 8:30 p.m. starts.

On Saturday, the Ripley Wolves host their home opener against their cross-township rivals, the Lucknow Lancers, at 7:00 p.m.

Also a 7:00 p.m. start, Minto returns to home ice, this time hosting the Erin Outlaws.

The Seaforth Centenaires home opener is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start, as they host the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks, who are early out of the gate in first place.

The schedule is rounded out in Creemore at 7:30 p.m., with the Coyotes hosting Milverton.

Miles MacLean of Saugeen Shores has jumped out to the early lead in the OEHL scoring race, with eight points in his first three games.

Hot on his heels is defending scoring champ, Garrett Meurs of the Ripley Wolves, who has recorded seven points in two games.
